The base oil for our CLEAN LAMP OILl is odorless and produces less smoke and soot as seen in the photos below. Option #1 is the odorless, Pure Formula that lets you become the MASTER OF YOUR HOME by adding your own essential oils to the fuel. Start with adding one ounce per gallon. Option #2 is the subtle fragrance of pure citronella oil – just a small amount is added to our odorless lamp oil to make our tiki torch fuel smell fresh and clean. Options #3 is the minty fragrance of Eucalyptus oil - again just a small amount is added to the odorless lamp oil. When burning there will be little to no scent. Mother Nature is at work though. Smoke Comparison Conserve Fuel and Reduce Smoke. Always set the wick ever so slightly above the wick holder so only a nub is showing. This ensures all of your fuel will burn and you will get less smoke. If you set it too high, you will experience smoke. To conserve fuel and reduce smoke/soot, here are some tips. Remove any residual fuel from the reservoir before filling with Firefly Fuel. • NEVER MIX FUELS. Mixing fuels will change burning properties. • Use a clean wick. If the wick is contaminated with old fuel/water, it will not perform properly.
