This tiny triptych is meant to offer hope of peace and calm. It's intended to be placed on a bedside or desk, so that the person can be reminded not only that relief exists but also that others are thinking of them. I designed and carved the original of this tiny triptych. It is freestanding and has designs on both sides. I cast it in lead-free pewter. The piece comes boxed with a history card that states the following: "The story of St. Dymphna (7th century, Ireland) is ultimately about healing and wholeness emerging from a difficult time, a story of anxiety, worry, and stress transformed into rejuvenation. She is thus often appealed to in order to overcome anxiety and worry. A practice has evolved whereby people in situations of stress pray and 'give' their anxiety to Dymphna, so that they are relieved of the burden and can see the world and their lives afresh, as blessed. In this small triptych, Dymphna is in the middle niche, releasing a dove, a symbol of peace. She is flanked by angels assisting her. The back of the piece has the words, 'St. Dymphna, Watch Over Us.'" Dimensions: 2 1/8 in. high x 1 7/8 wide x ¼ deep.
